Pooch Tips
For those after-dark walks, make your dog more visible to you and others by attaching a small LED light to your dog's collar. Most outdoor stores sell a variety of small clip-on lights for around $10, in addition to basic reflective collars.
Dog Etiquette

Be a responsible dog owner and practice good dog etiquette...

  • Always pick up after your dog. If you see other poop on the ground pick it up too. Chances are at one time or another your dog left a poop that you didn't catch. Offer poop bags to those who don't pick up after their dog.
  • Do not allow your dog to dig holes, chase wildlife, or damage the environment in any way. These are some of the main reasons dogs are prohibited from most national parks.
  • Carry a leash at all times. Leash your dog to and from the off-leash areas.
  • Be near, and in control of, your dog at all times. Do not allow your pooch to bark excessively or harass other dogs.
  • Keep your dog properly vaccinated and licensed. Click here for information about how to license your dog.
  • Try to avoid bringing small children into off-leash areas. If you must do so, keep them within arms reach at all times.
  • Be aware of park regulations, and follow them.
